"My Uncle Scott is a firefighter and a really big man. He has a terrible toot, well terrible in that it smells, but amazing because a skunk would love it because stinks so much! I would get my Uncle Scott to toot into a balloon, then I would tie it and send it to Tooter the Skunk. Tooter would open the balloon and let it go! This would solve Tooter's problem."

Here are some really stinky ideas. Congrats, Amaris, for having the first official entry for the contest! BC

It is Amaris. My idea is that the skunk jumped into a hole in the road and landed in the sewer. He would jump, swim , and do CANNON BALLS !!!!!!!! when he came out he was so so so STINKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone ran in diffent ways and he became the happiest skunk of all. THE END

My other idea was that he ran into the pig pen and rolled around in the mud when he came out it was 10 to 11. He wanted to see if he was really stinky. So he ran into a little girls house. the girl screamed and her grandmother yelled "Stink Bomb Alert" and called the police. THE END
PS: HE WENT TO JAIL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, it's been a while since I've posted any news on my blog. But there is some good news worth posting...picture book #2 is on the way! Tooter's Stinky Wish is slotted to come out in Spring, 2011. It will be published by Fitzhenry & Whiteside which is exciting because F&W is the publisher of some of my favourite picture books. As you may guess, my next book is about a skunk. But what's his wish? I can't tell. But I'll give you a clue: His wish really stinks!

Keep checking in for more info over the next several months as revisions begin and the illustrations get started!
